Kudos Cardea
Kudos produce a range of loudspeakers ranging from the compact C10 to the flagship Titan 808. They have a philosophy of using only the very best components in their speakers, with special care and attention given to the choice of the main drive unit and tweeter. Kudos have developed a long-standing relationship with SEAS loudspeaker driver manufacturers in Norway and this has allowed them to incorporate some of the world’s finest components, such as the world-renowned Crescendo tweeter into their products.
KUDOS active operation with Linn
Kudos’ trademark minimalist, low order crossover is of course a key feature, made possible by their seamless matching of the drive units. Alternatively, the Kudos Titan crossover has been engineered such that it can be completely by-passed in order to facilitate active operation with Linn.
While a typical audio system features one power amplifier channel per loudspeaker, in an active system there is one power amplifier per drive unit. Active operation enables a variety of performance-enhancing capabilities and opens up a wider upgrade path.
Cardea Super 20A
The Kudos Super 20A combines the SEAS Crescendo K2 tweeter from the Titan T88 with a newly developed bass/midrange driver, unique to this application and incorporating a copper shorting ring to minimise eddy currents, as well as an aluminium phase plug to act as a heatsink. The two drive units are unique to Kudos and have been developed to integrate seamlessly together to produce an extremely high-quality loudspeaker for the size and price.
The development to the Super 20A version has meant that the speaker can now also be used in conjunction with Linn’s Space Optimisation+ technology in order to enhance its performance even further and allowing it to reach its potential by eliminating many room acoustic problems.
Cardea Super 10A
You want an exceptionally musical, high-performance loudspeaker but you don’t have the space to house a floorstander. Not a problem. We made the Super 10A specifically for you.Yes, a compact standmount loudspeaker may not have quite the same degree of bass ‘welly’ (as we say here in the north-east of England) as an equivalent floorstander. But don’t imagine for a second that you should compromise on that all-important lower-end presence, or on an impressively three-dimensional soundstage. And don't think that you won’t be holding your breath in that spilt second of silence between notes. Not least because our Super 10A is directly comparable in design to our series-topping Super 20A floorstander.
